The Ford F-150 Lightning is the first electric variant of Ford’s popular F-Series of pickup trucks. Introduced in 2022, it quickly gained a reputation for its stunning acceleration, spacious interior, and familiar design.
For 2024, Ford introduces a limited-production special edition called the Platinum Black trim. Only 2,000 will be built; it will be the first Ford vehicle to wear a matte wrap from the factory. Further highlights include a dark-finished grille, special dark badging, and distinctive 22-inch dark-finished wheels.

Interior Review of the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning
Every 2024 F-150 Lightning is a four-door crew cab with 124 cubic feet of interior space. It has two rows of seats and can comfortably accommodate up to five adults. Standard across the range is a hidden, secure storage box with dividers beneath the rear seat. Starting from the XLT trim, the rear seat gets a center armrest with cup holders. Additionally, buyers will receive cloth or leather-upholstered seats, depending on trim selection.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning comes with a choice of two battery packs and all-wheel drive. The Standard Range battery has 98 kilowatt hours of capacity and offers a claimed range of 230 miles. The two electric motors put out 452 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque in this trim.
The Extended Range battery offers 131 kilowatt hours of capacity and can do 320 miles per charge. The two electric motors produce 580 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque.
The Standard Range variant can tow up to 7,700 pounds, and its payload capacity is 1,800. The Extended Range variant can pull up to 10,000 pounds, and its payload capacity is 2,000.
Regardless of the battery pack, this electric pickup truck can be charged via a home AC socket or at a DC fast charging station. Moreover, every 2024 F-150 Lightning has V2L capabilities. Ford rates a fully charged truck as being able to run an average home for up to three days.
