History of the Edge

The Edge was Ford's first crossover vehicle, marking an exciting leap in a new direction when it premiered in 2007. Even though this was years before the radical surge in popularity that crossovers would later experience, Ford's introduction into the segment exhibited many attributes that would eventually become class standards. From the beginning the Edge was released as a family-friendly SUV with seating for five. It offered a variety of features like AdvanceTrac electronic stability, and it ran on a 3.5-liter V6 engine.

The 2008 model released with Ford's new SYNC infotainment system, and the 2009 Edge offered a new Sport trim. The SUV's interior and exterior underwent a thoughtful refresh in 2011, with an updated styling and new interior features. Every model that followed has demonstrated Ford's ongoing endeavors to improve the Edge, and in 2015, they released an all-new generation with the latest in technology and design.
